CINEREACH ANNOUNCES SUMMER 2011 GRANT RECIPIENTS
$350,000 Awarded to 17 Nonfiction, Fiction and Hybrid Films

New York, NY (October 13, 2011) – Cinereach today announced $350,000 in grants to 17 feature-length film projects, completing its second grant cycle of 2011. Cinereach has granted a total of $750,000 this year (an increase from last year’s $500,000) towards its mission of championing vital stories, artfully told.

“This grant cycle marks a major milestone for Cinereach as it includes our 100th supported film,” said Cinereach Creative Director Michael Raisler. “It also comes at a time of new beginnings as we evolve by building on the experience of our first five years. Our grantees continue to confound expectations and resonate with audiences. We remain committed to our belief in film as a significant force in shaping global culture, and our newest grantees also represent Cinereach’s dedication to supporting manifold aesthetics, stories and voices.”

Over 1000 applications were submitted from filmmakers based in more than 70 countries. 10 of the selected films will receive Cinereach support for the first time, while 7 are past grantees being awarded additional support.
