About the Film:
A young boy in a Nicaraguan barrio steals money from his family to buy a video game.
About the Filmmakers:
Yamin Segal was born in Managua, Nicaragua. He attended Emerson College, where he received a BA in Film Production, and in 2008 earned his MFA degree in Dramatic Writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His thesis screenplay entitled Que Lindo Es Bailar, earned Yamin an invitation to the 2008 Nantucket Screenwriters’ Colony, while his screenplay Three Latin Girls, was a finalist at the 2006 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Yamin’s narrative short debut, El Ladroncito (The Little Thief), is currently touring the film festival circuit, and has most recently won “Best Short Narrative” at the Arizona International Film Festival. Yamin is currently participating in the Hispanic Playwrights in Residence program with the INTAR theater group in New York City.
