The Cinereach grant committee meets twice a year to review grant applications and assign awards. Please review our upcoming deadlines page for more information about Cinereach’s next grant cycle.

Cinereach requires prospective applicants to submit an initial 2-page letter of inquiry that enables Cinereach staff to determine the relevance of the proposed project to our grant-making priorities.

Cinereach will then invite selected applicants to submit a full proposal to be reviewed by the grant committee.

Please include the following information in your 2-page letter of inquiry:

• Legal name and contact information of the individual or organization
• A brief synopsis of the film project (1 paragraph)
• Consistency of film project with Cinereach’s grant-making priorities (1 Paragraph)
  
• Total film budget (just the total amount – not a full breakdown)
• Dollar amount requested from Cinereach (include high and low end requests, if desirable)
• The purpose for which Cinereach funds will be used (1 paragraph)
• Total amount of film budget raised to date
• Qualifications of the key individuals involved in the project (1 paragraph)
• How you heard about Cinereach

Please note: Cinereach provides grants ranging from $5,000 – $50,000. Applicants are encouraged to request specific amounts needed rather than the maximum amount offered. Applicants may choose to make high and low-end requests to provide options for Cinereach support. Please include an explanation of high and low-end requests in your letter of inquiry.

For electronic submission, please save your Letter of Inquiry document in the following format: YOUR PROJECT TITLE_LOI. If submitting by email, please include the Letter of Inquiry as an attached document (PDF or Word) and paste links to sample work in the body of your email. If submitting by mail, please include one DVD copy of sample work.

Only letters received by June 1, 2009 will be considered for our next grant cycle in August 2009.
