Fernando Frias de la Parra (Director, Writer): Born and raised in Mexico City, Fernando Frias attended Columbia University as a Fulbright Scholar and has worked as a director, cinematographer, and editor. His first narrative feature, Rezeta, won several awards on the festival circuit, including the Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2014 Slamdance Film Festival. Fernando attended the 2014 Sundance Screenwriters Lab with Ya No Estoy Aqui. He will be directing the new HBO pilot, Mexico City, starring Fred Armisen.

Gerardo Gatica and Alberto Muffelmann (Producers, Panorama Global): Gerardo is the founding partner of After Life Films, Pantalla Blanca, La Rama de Teatro and Bh5 Group, where he worked as CEO. He specialized in the production of films and theater, as well as in the structuring, management and administration of corporate operations. Alberto Muffelmann is a partner at Panorama Global, which has specialized in many areas of the entertainment industry, including development, film, theater, television, advertisement, production services, development and production of digital content, editing services, among others. Selected filmography includes: The Dance of Reality by Alejandro Jodorowski, Remember by Atom Egoyan, Kite by Ralph Zinemman, Cemetery of Splendor by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and the upcoming Museo, starring Gael Garcia Bernal and written and directed by Alonso Ruizpalacio. Museo was selected to the 2018 Berlin Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay.

Gerry Kim (Producer, PPW Films): Gerry’s previous films include director Jennifer Kroot’s To Be Takei, a documentary portrait of actor and activist George Takei (2014 Sundance Film Festival premiere, released theatrically by Starz Digital) and directors Esra Saydam and Nisan Dag’s Across the Sea (winner of the Audience Award at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival, released on Amazon Prime). Most recently, he produced The Untold Tales of Armistead Maupin, winner of the Audience Award at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival. The film made its broadcast premiere on the Emmy Award winning series Independent Lens on January 1st, 2018 and will be distributed worldwide by Netflix. He also helped produce long-form content for several companies, including Red Bull Music Academy and Mastercard. An alum of Columbia University’s Graduate Film Program, Gerry was awarded the 2010 Arthur Krim Memorial Award for Best Producer and in 2014 was selected as a Creative Producing Fellow of the Sundance Institute for I’m No Longer Here.

Damián Garc√≠a (Director of Photography): Damián Garc√≠a studied Cinematography at Mexico City’s CCC (Center for Cinema Studies) and specialized in cinematography studies in Barcelona at the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC). Damián won several awards for Güeros (directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios), including Best Cinematography at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and the 2015 Ariel Award for Best Cinematography. Damián has also shot Más Que A Nada En El Mundo (directed by Andrés Leon Becker and Javier Solar, nominated for Best Cinematography in 2007 by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences), El Infierno (directed by Luis Garcia), Chicogrande (directed by Felipe Cazals), Desierto (written and directed by Jonás Cuar√≥n), and most recently, Museo (directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios, starring Gael Garcia Bernal).

Yibran Asuad (Editor): Yibran started his career as a still photographer but rapidly switched to cinema where he has a long trajectory as a producer, editor and photographer. He was also Chief Programmer of FICCO on its two last editions. He has founded production companies like Revolcadero and Sociedad Cinematográfica. Currently he is also teaching editing classes at the Centro de Capacitaci√≥n Cinematográfica. His credits as executive producer include El Regreso Del Muerto by Gustavo Gamou and El Lenguale de los Machetes by Kyzza Terrazas, and Drama/Mex and Voy a Explotar by Gerardo Naranjo. He edited Fernando’s Slamdance winning feature Rezeta, as well as Gueros, Tanto Agua, Eden, Bellas de Noche, and Museo among many others.
